WHO AM I
Kung Teck, Wong (Thomas), is the Deputy Director of Research Management and Innovation Centre (RMIC) from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). Previously held the post as the Deputy Dean (Research & Innovation) at the Faculty of Human Development, UPSI, he is also appointed as a member of Malaysia Board of Technology (MBOT) and is given the designation of Ts. Before serving in UPSI in 2008, he was a senior lecturer in private university and teacher in a government school for 13 years. He completed his PhD from University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and Post-doctoral at the University of South Australia (UniSA) in Australia.
He has published extensively in local and international journals. In research, Wong has published extensively in local and international journals. Till today, he has published 85 articles, and 35 of the articles are indexed in WOS or SCOPUS (citation>520; H-index=12 Social sc.) with Excellent Citation Publication Award 2021. With the huge publication and research records, UPSI has identified him as a member of the "Rising Star" in the year since 2019. Wong has been elected as Editor-in-Chief for Southeast Asia Early Childhood Journal (SAECJ). Wong is actively a member of the Board of Editor for the Asia Pacific Journal of Educators and Education (APJEE) (SCOPUS) and Journal of Research, Policy & Practice of Teachers &Teacher Education (JRPPTTE) and Journal Educational Bitara from UPSI. He also serves as a reviewer of several local and WOS and SCOPUS indexed journals.
In the past five years, he has secured many public and private research funding. Wong is interested in multi-disciplinary studies which include educational technology among educators (psychological influences on technology acceptance and adoption) and quantitative methodological topics (psychometrics properties, items validation, and development). Wong also applies the application of SPSS and AMOS -structural equation modelling in his writing articles and research.
